Region Jönköping County is setting aside SEK 500 000 from its 2017 state subsidy to give non-profit organisations an opportunity to carry out cultural initiatives directed at new arrivals and asylum seekers in Jönköping County.
The cultural initiatives aim to help asylum seekers and new arrivals feel welcome. The project grant is designed to promote intercultural dialogue in Jönköping County and to contribute to network-building and sustainable procedures for integration work, which help increase psychosocial health through cultural initiatives.
Who can apply for a project grant?
The project grant is aimed at non-profit organisations in civil society in Jönköping County.
Municipalities and individuals may not apply, but they may be participating parties.
Region Jönköping County prioritises projects that take place in collaboration with the professional cultural scene.
What is required for a project to receive funding?
Project applications are assessed on the following criteria:
The cultural initiatives shall
- promote the integration of asylum seekers and new arrivals
- have the potential to continue after the end of the project period
- lead to new collaborations
- help in developing methods
- be organised in Jönköping County
- promote gender equality
We do not require co-funding, but we consider it a positive.
What is funding available for?
Grants may be applied for to assist with direct costs, such as costs for programmes, salaries, travel, workshops and materials, for example. Project grants of SEK 7,500 to SEK 50,000 may be applied for. One application may cover several different initiatives. The project grant is for cultural initiatives that take place between December 1, 2016 and October 27, 2017.
What is funding not available for?
Projects which have already finished.
Projects which receive organiser grants or development grants from Region Jönköping County are not eligible for project grants for cultural initiatives for asylum seekers and new arrivals.

Processing and decisions
The responsible manager at Region Jönköping County will administer the applications.
If further information is required, the region will contact the person responsible for the application.
Decisions will be announced within a month by e-mail to the e-mail address provided in the application.
Projects that have been awarded grants must, following notification from Region Jönköping County, clearly state in all external communication (information material, publications etc.) that Region Jönköping County is a co-funder.

Region Jönköping County must receive a report on the project no later than one month after the project is complete.
The report deadline is November 27, 2017.
Reporting should take place via the Kulturdatabasen database.
The organisation shall be obliged to repay the grant if the grant decision is made on incorrect grounds, if the terms are not fulfilled, if the funds are used incorrectly or if no reporting is forthcoming.
Grant recipients will receive a requisition form which must be completed and returned to Region Jönköping County, Utbildning och kultur, Box 1024, SE-551 11 Jönköping, Sweden.
Payments will be made into the bank giro account stated on the application.
